Jozwiak Takes Oath to Serve Another Two-year Term and Outlines Legislative Priorities
HARRISBURG – State Rep. Barry Jozwiak (R-Berks) today in Harrisburg was sworn in to serve a new, two-year term in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. He issued the following statement outlining his legislative priorities for the new session:
“I think we need to work on policies related to COVID-19 and election reform, and hopefully this will be the session when we finally replace the property tax.
“People in our communities are struggling with the health and economic impacts of COVID-19. We need to advance policies to protect the health and safety of residents while also providing relief to businesses and workers affected by the pandemic.
“The people of Pennsylvania want to know that elections are fair and their vote is counted. We need to work to restore faith in the election process in our Commonwealth.
“Property taxes place an undue burden on homeowners and push many families out of houses they have owned for decades. This is not just a legal or an economic issue; it is a moral issue. No tax should have the power to leave someone homeless.”
