Jozwiak Invites Residents to Shredder Event on Oct. 7
Shredding documents with personal information can prevent identity theft
READING – State Rep. Barry Jozwiak (R-Berks) is inviting residents in the 5th Legislative District to join him on Saturday, Oct. 7, between 9 a.m. and noon at his district office at the Reading Regional Airport, where they can shred documents with personal information and protect themselves against identity theft.
“Shredding documents with personal, financial and sensitive information on them can help protect a person against the threat of identity theft,” Jozwiak said.
Residents can bring up to five packing boxes full of paper to be shredded. The boxes will be returned to residents. The shredding company will not keep or shred boxes.
The shredding will take place onsite at Jozwiak’s office at the Reading Regional Airport, which is located at 2501 Bernville Road.
“Identity theft is a significant problem for residents in our district,” Jozwiak said. “We think of this event as a way to empower residents to fight back against the criminals who are trying to steal their information.”
The 5th Legislative District, located completely within Berks County, consists of the townships of Alsace, Bern, Bethel, Centre, Exeter, Jefferson, Maidencreek, Marion, Ontelaunee, Penn, Ruscombmanor, Tulpehocken, Upper Bern and Upper Tulpehocken, as well as the boroughs of Bernville, Centerport, Fleetwood, Leesport and Strausstown.
