Free Shredder Event
With the growing risk of identity theft, one of the most important things people can do is ensure papers with their personal information do not end up in the wrong hands. The best way to do that is to securely shred documents that contain Social Security numbers, account numbers and other identifying information. That’s why I’m joining Tompkins Community Bank in inviting residents of the 5th Legislative District to a paper shredding event on
Saturday, Sept. 30, from 9 a.m. to noon at Old Hoover Motors Parking Lot, 2-
50 E. Penn Ave., Wernersville.
Participants can bring up to four boxes of paper for shredding. The shredder cannot accept heavy-duty binders or wet or moldy paper. Businesses are permitted to participate as long as they have four boxes or papers or less.
The event is open only to those who reside in the 5th Legislative District, which consists of the following Berks County communities: the townships of Bern, Bethel, Centre, Heidelberg, Jefferson, Lower Heidelberg, Marion, North Heidelberg, Ontelaunee, Penn, Perry, South Heidelberg, Tulpehocken and portions of Spring; as well as the boroughs of Bernville, Centerport, Leesport, Robesonia, Shoemakersville, Wernersville and Womelsdorf.

Predator Hunting Seminar
Education is a vital part of the hunting process and though predator attacks are rare, keeping their populations in check is important. I hope people will come to my predator hunting seminar event to learn how to hunt these animals safely and legally. I am joining the Pennsylvania Game Commission for this event on
Thursday, Oct. 5, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Pennsylvania Game Commission Southeast Regional Headquarters at
253 Snyder Road, Reading. The presentation will be given by the PA Game Commission and an expert on predator hunting, Mike Huff. Those interested in attending should
RSVP to my office by calling 610-378-4407.
